Kris Ziller, Board Chairman

I love the outdoors and love to fish and camp. I am interested in the beautification and education of our community and its environment. I also enjoy making Cole Cubs environmental stewards. I have been in Keep Stockwell Beautiful for 20 years in 2025 and started out as a Ranger Rick Nature Club Member.

Mike Pinto

Mike Pinto is the Principal of James Cole Elementary School. Stockwell residents may not know that my favorite tree is the Oak. I am very proud to know that Cole Cubs clean Stockwell once a year. I also keep our educational pond running so our students can enjoy this space and even sometimes catch a fish.

Cary “Red” Mathews

I built bicycles out of the junk piles as a kid by 15. I built my first totaled car. I have repurposed items from an early age and still do today.

Madia “Sunshine” Bickett

I moved to Stockwell in 2019. I quickly realized how much charm and beauty my community had! As a person who grew up in a small town, I felt right at home and looked at ways to give back to my community. I started the Stockwell Farmers Market in 2020 and our first professional social media presence. I joined the Keep Stockwell Beautiful board 2 years ago and help the group with web and social media updates. I was recognized in 2024 by Purdue University with the Jefferson Award for my work within Stockwell.

Jessica Bowen

My family and I have lived in the Stockwell area for 6 years. I started out as a volunteer with Keep Stockwell Beautiful about 5 years ago helping Cole Kids clean up Stockwell. This is my second year serving on the board. I am passionate about recycling, repurposing, and reducing waste. In my first year as a board member, I was tasked with researching bench options for Cole’s Education Center. I was pleased to be able to find a local company that makes beautiful benches from recycled plastics.

Louie Vaughan

Family is the cornerstone of my life.  I have been married to Rachael Vaughan for 15 years; I cherish the life we have built together, filled with laughter, love, and the occasional chaos of raising four children. His son Johnathan, at 14, is growing up to be a fine young man. Meanwhile, Henry, at 9, is full of youthful excitement, constantly seeking adventure and discovery. Samuel, at 7, brings joy with his infectious curiosity, while little Hannah, just 4, captivates the family with her boundless energy and imaginative spirit.

Beyond family life, I have great satisfaction with my mowing and snow removal business.  I have mowed Wea cemeteries for years, and it all started back when my father mowed them.  I have also mowed the Lauramie cemeteries, taking pride in maintaining our ancestor’s resting place.  I also have a passion for farming.  I have been farming for many years.  Together, as a family, we have a love for dairy goats.  We take our goats on the road to several shows around the state. I must instill an appreciation for hard work and the rewards of nurturing animals in my children.

As a lifelong community resident, I believe in being a good neighbor. Solid relationships foster a sense of belonging and safety. I understand that a community thrives on mutual support, and I actively participate in local events, sharing my time and resources whenever possible. I am proud to be a member of Keep Stockwell Beautiful.

Tammy Foley

During the past 30 years, my experience has been in the local Real Estate and Custom Home Building market. I am currently an In-House Managing Broker at Coldwell Banker Shook. While keeping up with the housing market, I am also a business partner at Foley Foundations. My partners, Pat (spouse) and two sons Steve and Rick, work with local builders in an 8-county area. Foley Foundations, Inc. specializes in building foundations, water and sewer installation in new construction.

In my free time, you can find me with my family attending grandchildren’s sporting events, floating in the pool, or enjoying a nice dinner with family and friends. I’ve always enjoyed giving back to the community. Keep Stockwell Beautiful has been a passion of mine because I grew up in the area.

Richard Lofland

I have been a lifelong resident of Stockwell,  I was a very active member of the Stockwell Fire Department and responded to emergency calls for over forty years. I’ve been changing (normally with help from one of my children) the ‘Welcome to Stockwell’ banners for a number of years. My father had worked at the Co-op elevator in Stockwell for a number of years and he at one time planted a good-sized flower garden there for all to enjoy.  Back then downtown Stockwell was a busy place. I’ve been employed by Purdue University for 35 years now.
